NUMBER OF KIDS
"You don't need two children.
One is enough for you."

Where Does Medical Advice End and Personal Opinion Begin?
I often hear that doctors downplay patients' dreams of having a big family: "Be grateful if you manage to have at least one - that should be enough for you."
"Why did no one discuss this with me? Why didn’t they ask us about our future family plans? If we had known the real chances, we would have approached things differently - for example, we wouldn’t have delayed the IVF cycle for so long."
Social freezing appears in every advertisement - your chance to have a child in the future. But what about the chance to have multiple children? It would take so little - just showing genuine interest in patients' feelings.
The WHO (World Health Organization) declares that every individual has the right to freely decide how many children they want. Of course, if there is a medical contraindication, the health of the patient and the future child comes first.
But what if it’s just your doctor’s personal opinion? Is it ethical for them to discourage you based solely on their own beliefs?
What Should a Good IVF Doctor Say?
😊 Ethical Approach:
✔ “It’s wonderful that you want to grow your family. From a medical perspective, there are factors to consider…”
✔ “Your fertility has changed, but let’s explore all possible options.”
✔ “I’m here to support you and help you make the best decision for your family.”
😡 Unethical Approach:
❌ “You should be happy that you have one child.”
❌ “You don’t need more children.”
❌ “Just accept what you have.”
Medical decisions should be based on facts and expertise, not personal beliefs. ❤️
