Reasons for donation
- The main reason for egg donation is altruism.
- However, the financial compensation and the testing of her own fertility are also a factors of significant motivation.
- Financial compensation for the donor in the Czech Republic is approximately 800-1200 EUR
How many times a donor can donate?
- max 6 times with a sufficient pause 3 months are recommended.
Requirments for donors
- Age 18 - 32 years (depends on the clinic)
- BMI (Body Mass Index) maximum 29
- Good health condition
- Completed high school education with a high school diploma
- No genetically determined diseases
- Negative tests for sexually transmitted infections: AIDS (HIV), hep. B and C, syphilis, possibly HTLV
- The donor must not have severe mental disorders
- The donor must not regularly use alcohol or drugs (including marijuana)
- Women interested in donating must meet the strict criteria set by European guidelines
- Other analyses (Blood group and RH factor, Hormonal profile, genetics- Karyotype, Cystic Fibrosis (CFTR), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Fragile X Syndrome (FXS)
Egg Donor Profile
Majority of clinics will share with you: age, phenotype, blood group and Rh factor, eye colour, hair color, weight, height, education, hobbies. You are NOT allowed to see the donor's picture.
